Green Clay

Green clay powder, if mixed with water, produces a thick cream that can be applied to the body both as a mask and as a regenerative compression. Its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties - in addition to improving the health and appearance of the epidermis (our outer skin layer), also help to find relief in cases of osteoarthritis, bruising and sprains. Therefore, this product is very well known and appreciated by athletes. It allows you to tackle trauma by relieving swelling immediately. Green clay is also recommended to promote the healing process for wounds due to its antiseptic and healing properties.

Clay is an inorganic material rich in many minerals, especially silicates, and has a high absorbency with a precise crystalline structure. Until ancient times, clay was recognized as a natural remedy. The Egyptians, Greeks and Romans already used clay mainly for the rejuvenating effect on the body and subsequently, since the 20th century, it was also used as a therapeutic agent for health.

Green clay for joint pain

Because of the above mentioned properties, green clay is one of the most suitable remedies for joint pain.

With its excellent absorbent and antitoxic properties, it is a natural bactericidal agent that counteracts the spread of bacteria in the body. The clay stimulates blood coagulation and therefore aids in healing of inner and outer tissues, the gastrointestinal tract and accelerates the healing of the skin in case of irritation, sunburn and other epidermal problems. The clay has strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, acting on a thermal level by absorbing the excess heat caused by the ongoing inflammation, as well as reducing the pain felt in the application area.

Some pathologies and disorders such as osteoarthritis, arthritis, bursitis, and trauma to the joints are other causes that result from joint pain. This painful sensation is often given by inflammation of the tissues and it is important to determine at what level of inflammation we are to be able to intervene.

The clay is used in this case as a compression to be placed in contact with the part of the body that is in pain.

How to prepare and use a clay compression.

The type of clay used for compression is precisely the green clay that you can order and buy (HERE).

When preparing the clay, it is always better to use materials such as glass and wood that do not react with the metals present. So, avoid using spoons, bowls or other tools made of steel.

Take 3 tablespoons of clay powder and add lukewarm or warm water. Stir the mixture until homogeneous. It must have a thick muddy texture, because if it is too liquid, it will slip away from the area we need to treat. The pulp is placed on a large piece of household file, which is then attached (with the clay directly to the skin) on the inflamed area. Sleep with it overnight and remove the film with the dry clay the next morning.

Repeat if necessary This treatment 2-3 times in a week for better results.
